Darren Coleman serves Stiefel, a GSK company, as vice president, Global Strategy and Operations. Since taking on this role in 2010, Darren is responsible for developing corporate strategy, commercial analytics, acquisition integration, portfolio planning and product development project management. Additionally, Darren oversees the office of the president as well as Stiefel’s Global Dermatology Academy, a best-in-class training program for Stiefel employees around the world.

Darren began his career in the pharmaceutical industry as a professional sales representative promoting various oral and intravenous specialty medicines including dermatologic products. Throughout his 20-year career in the industry, Darren has amassed experiences in sales, operations and business strategy through roles including district sales manager, director of sales support, director of sales operations and executive director of global commercial business services.

In his current role, Darren leverages all of his experiences to develop strategic plans and allocate resources for Stiefel’s future. He has worked closely with GlaxoSmithKline colleagues to integrate the Stiefel business while maintaining its unique market positioning. Since the acquisition of Stiefel by GSK in 2009, Darren has worked to synergize Stiefel’s strategic planning process with GSK’s, leading to a streamlined planning process that ensures cohesion between global, regional and local planning. Most recently, Darren and his team introduced the Medicine Vision process to Stiefel – a GSK process that ensures drug development is done with deep insights into the needs of physicians, patients and consumers and a thorough understanding of the global marketplace and payers.

Darren is a proud alumnus of the University of Florida where he earned an undergraduate degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. He also received his masters in business administration from Western Carolina University and is an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. He and his wife now live in Raleigh, North Carolina with their children.
