Bill Humphries

William “Bill” Humphries is president of Stiefel, a GSK company. Stiefel, acquired by GlaxoSmithKline in July 2009, is a specialty business unit within GSK. As president of dermatology, Humphries is responsible for the overall financial performance of Stiefel as well as for setting global marketing and sales strategies. He also oversees Stiefel’s dedicated R&D function which focuses exclusively on developing dermatology medicines.
Prior to the acquisition by GSK, Humphries served in various positions at Stiefel including president and chief commercial officer. His accomplishments in these roles included orchestrating the creation of an integrated global commercial team and the successful acquisitions of Connetics Corporation, ABR Invent & ABR Development, and Barrier Therapeutics.
Before joining Stiefel in 2003, Humphries was vice president of Sales and Marketing, Skin Care, for Allergan, Inc., where he oversaw marketing and sales management, training, operations and business development.
Humphries is a 22-year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry, with 21 of those years focused on the specialty of dermatology. Throughout his career, he has amassed experience in sales, sales training, sales operations, marketing, global marketing and corporate development. In addition, Humphries has held P&L responsibility both at Allergan and Stiefel.
Humphries is a graduate of Bucknell University, where he majored in management and economics. He also earned an MBA from Pepperdine University.
